Dow-Key Microwave, the Leader in RF/Microwave Switch Manufacturing, Has Released A New White Paper on Switch Solutions for the Public
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2011
Dow-Key Microwave Corporation, the leading manufacturer of electromechanical switches for radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications is proud to announce the release of their brand new white paper, “Switch Solutions for Systems with Low PIM Requirements.”
The “Switch Solutions for Systems with Low PIM Requirements” addition to the white paper page explains that the effect of nonlinearities is becoming more prominent in signals with higher amplitude, which causes intermodulation signals to interfere with the desired system behavior and introduces unwanted results. In order to avoid this and reduce intermodulation in passive devices, low PIM designs are necessary.
Dow-Key Microwave Corporation has invested in R&D for new RF switch products and was excited to introduce to the market a family of special RF switches which meet the very stringent and low intermodulation requirements imposed by today’s test and communication industries. The launch of the “Low PIM family” has provided capability for a much improved PIM performance (below-160 dBc) and is available as an option to users with low PIM needs.
The new white paper focuses on defining Passive Intermodulation, and the concerns around PIM. It also discussed the cause of PIM in both general terms and in switches while also providing a solution for systems with low PIM requirements. For more information regarding this or other Dow-Key Microwave white papers, contact Dow-Key Technical Staff.
Adolf Cheung, Dow Key Microwave’s VP of Sales and Marketing stated, “As a technology leader, Dow-Key remains committed to deliver innovative switching solutions for the Test and Measurement market.” Cheung also added, “The extensive qualification, along with the refinement of our manufacturing process for our latest Low Passive Intermodulation (PIM) switches, has enabled Dow-Key to build a solid foundation focused on the cutting edge of technology, and in areas directly in line with our customers’ needs.”
Dow-Key Microwave Corporation is an American company that is headquartered in Ventura, California. Dowkey at the Autotestcon Show
October 21, 2010 at 7:22 pm | Posted in Ceramic & Microwave Products, Coaxial Switches, Dow-Key, RF matrices, Switch Matrices | Leave a commentOrlando, Florida (September 13-16, 2010) – Last month, Dow-Key Microwave participated in the Autotestcon Show, held in Orlando, Florida, from September 13th through 16th. The theme of this year’s conference reflected upon not only the fact that 2010 is Autotestcon’s forty-fifth year, but also that their technical program focuses on the future of automatic test. Dow-Key Microwave joined over 100 other exhibiting organizations and United States Military divisions in providing over 250 exhibition booths. ![]() By participating in this show, Dow-Key Microwave’s attendees, Adolf Cheung, Larry Neeley, Greg Marinez and Sara Nazemzadeh, were able to meet senior military and aerospace leaders, as well as intermingle with other professionals in the industry, including weapon systems managers, acquisition officials, engineers and logisticians.Dow-Key Microwave held its exhibition at booth number 836, which turned out to be a great location since it was in a high traffic area. Dow-Key’s products on display included the solid state 3202 matrix, the electromechanical 4104 matrix, the fiber optics matrix, PXI modules, and many coaxial and waveguide switches that are great for test setups, as well as ATE applications. The fiber optics matrix, which is one of the latest additions to Dow-Key’s product line, really captured a high level of interest. Participation in the show also provided a great opportunity to reveal the company’s new Space Brochure for the first time. During the three day exhibition, Dow-Key Microwave also took part in the “Tech Trek” competition which was sponsored by Evaluation Engineering. In this competition, visitors of Dow-Key’s booth had the chance to win an iPod, iPad, or various other electronics through multiple daily drawings. This competition was a fun event that gave Dow-Key Microwave the opportunity to meet and interact with may great engineers and leaders within the RF industry. The outcome of the show was truly great, because it was very well attended, and Dow-Key was able to capture many high quality leads. Due to this great turn out, Dow-Key Microwave plans to participate in the next Autotestcon show, which will be held next year in Baltimore. |
RF Switches for ATE Applications
October 13, 2010 at 9:46 pm | Posted in Ceramic & Microwave Products, Dow-Key, RF matrices | Leave a commentDow-Key’s new product catalog offers wide range of RF switches for use in test applications. For smaller test setups with few I/O paths the 1-million and 5-million cycle switches with 0.03 dB repeatability up to 4 GHz are a popular choice, in addition to, miniature sized and pin-mount PCB switches. ![]() In larger test setups where many I/O paths are under test, compact solution such as PXI modules is recommended, specially our 12K3S-series where each module can be populated with up to three RF switches and with any combination of dual SPDT, DPDT, SP3T, SP4T, and SP6T switches. Another popular choice is our extensive matrix portfolio that offers many different I/O matrix combinations for ATE applications. They all are offered with both local control and with pair of remote interfaces: GPIB/RS-232 or Ethernet/RS-232. Dow-Key matrices are well suited for any test application where RF signals are routed between various DUTs and test equipments. To learn more about switches for ATE applications, contact Dow-Key. |
